I bought this computer to build a small system for the kitchen. I installed a 2.5" hard drive, and 4Gb of memory, then installed Linux Kubuntu. The included bracket mounted to the back of my 21.5 monitor, and is a nice alternative to the iMac. It runs very quietly, and has plenty of USB ports for peripherals. It uses an external power supply much like a laptop, and has been trouble-free for the few months I've owned it. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a nice compact PC.

Great BareBones Box, March 21, 2012

Probably the easiest barebones PC I've ever put together. Far simpler than a Shuttle (my previous favorite).
Of course, smaller/less expandable too, but...lots and lots of ports so who cares.

Bought this to be a basic domain controller. 8 GB RAM, 120 GB SSD, plug in my USB CD, connect to KVM, plug in power, turn on.

Amazingly fast boot and load of W2K8R2x64 CD. Faster than about any computer I've done W2K8R2 on. File decompression seemed a bit slower than normal, but everything else whizzed along at a great pace. I'm used to i7's and Xeon equivalents, so that's impressive.

On first logon, a good amount of devices had been found, including wifi.

Added driver CD, and default install program was broken, had no working selections, probably freaked out by W2K8R2.
Drivers, however were all there on disk so manual load where possible the setup program...probably for the same W2K8R2 thing,
the Catalyst driver didn't want to much. But saw this same thing with some default drivers for my XFX cards. Anyway right click on video card in Dev Mgr and point to directory....all fine.

Same for card reader and the Renesas USB 3.0 controller (super common controller, MS should just put in the build)

Otherwise, great, trivial install, one of the fastest windows installs I've done in a long time.

The post/reboot speed is amazing, almost like a VM.

Box is amazingly simple to open, access is great, looks sleek and cool, nice green ring. Came with a VESA mounting holder and table stand (and feet) so you can sit it flat, on its side in stand or mount it on the back of your monitor with the VESA mounting case.

Packaging and instructions were great. (And in proper English--apparently proofread--wow) Any more I do pay attention to the quality of the packaging, box contents, how it's wrapped, it tells you a lot about the care and quality that goes in to the product. I do this for power supplies even. This thing was packed amazingly well, with plastic skin protectors, foam separator for CD and docs, card board holders for stand/external power supply.

So anyway, I build a lot of boxes, and I buy a lot of full service boxes both desktops and servers (Dell) for my clients and this was one of the easiest/fastest/least hassle boxes I've built in I don't know how many years.

SATA III (6 Gbs), w/eSATA and 2xUSB 3.0, 4xUSB2, Card reader? HDMI and DVI? Gig wire, WiFi? $217 You can't afford not to buy it.

I'd be happy to setup a farm of these things. If I were a webhosting provider, for no more money than these cost, and how easy they are to build, and the space they take up, I'd setup a farm and rent them out and have my money back in a few months months.

Box+RAM was $257 or so, then add a disk, in my case a 120 GB Crucial SSD, and my cost was under $450.

Note - This is the second one of these I have purchased, and REALLY like the concept.

However, the listing states that it comes with a 250GB Hard drive and 8 GB RAM - this is not correct. The machine comes bare bones, and you have to add your own RAM and Hard drive.
